Updates to vehicle descriptions

You may have heard that ICBC is updating vehicle descriptions which will result in refunds for optional customers.

ICBC has recently checked the vehicle description for all of its customers and identified that a small percentage of optional customers have an incorrect vehicle description in our system, which impacted what they paid for optional insurance.

Customers who paid too much for their optional insurance will receive a refund. Customers who underpaid will not be charged the difference for prior years.

Within 90 days, ICBC will be able to tell customers if they've paid too much or too little. Work continues to check vehicle descriptions and customers will receive their full refund in July 2014.

ICBC has made this a priority and is working to update information for affected customers.
