Use of electronic devices during ICBC road tests

30 June 2015

We’ve updated the driver training industry Code of Conduct (DTC410) to be consistent with current ICBC policy not to permit the recording of ICBC road tests.

ICBC is responsible for protecting the personal information of its employees and customers — it's part of our code of ethics and our obligation under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).

A recording of an employee (or your student) is considered personal information, so the use of recording devices to capture their image or voice is not permitted.

For further details, refer to the letter from Melanie LeBrun, manager of Driver Training Industry Support, which is being mailed — along with the Code of Conduct — to all driver training schools and facilities.
