Raising awareness about distracted driving
31 July 2014
Distracted driving is a growing concern and a key priority for ICBC in 2014. Distracted driving is dangerous — in fact, it's the third leading cause of car crash fatalities in B.C. with an average of 91 people killed each year due to driver distractions. And we know that distracted driving is a common cause of rear-end collisions and injuries.
We've been working hard to raise awareness about distracted driving, including an additional education and enforcement campaign in February this year.
Now we've launched a sticker that drivers can display on their vehicle as a statement that they don't use their phone while driving and they encourage others to do the same.
This decal is part of our larger education campaign to help drivers learn how to avoid distractions behind the wheel and make our roads safer for everyone.
Demonstrate your support for this initiative by displaying the decal on your company vehicles and providing them to your students. A countertop point of sale (4"x4") to display the decals is available, too — and they're both free!
Order your supply now using our online Forms and Publications Request form.
Thanks again for your support of this important road safety initiative.
