New commercial driver licence code for B.C.

22 January 2014 (Updated: 30 May 2014)

To bring B.C. into compliance with the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) beginning January 30, 2014, commercial drivers with significant hearing loss, epilepsy or insulin dependent diabetes will have a code *W* COMMERCIAL CLASS NOT QUALIFIED IN USA identifier placed on their licence.

Commercial drivers with these medical conditions are currently not permitted to operate a commercial vehicle in the United States (U.S), but have not previously been identified.
