Privacy review results in policy change

31 May 2013

Recording the driver’s licence (DL) number of a driver training instructor or assessment officer on a document, and giving a copy of that document to a student, has been identified as a privacy risk.

Until recently, instructors and assessment officers (AO) that provide training or assessment were required to have their names and instructor/AO numbers listed on documents issued to students.

After review, this policy was changed.

Driver training schools and facilities have been asked to discontinue recording instructor and AO driver licence numbers on documents that they issue to their students.
